Finally Moses spoke, “It might be best if we start at the beginning.”

.

That sounded familiar to Saturday because he remembered Noah had said it was best to begin at the beginning the day they visited the Ark Encounter. What a day that had been. Even today Saturday remembered all the stories Noah had told them, about the people, the animals, the great flood and why God had been so sad he made the flood. But with Moses, Saturday didn’t feel sad. So he said, “Yes, let’s begin at the beginning.”

Moses began with the beginning. “In the beginning God created everything, the earth, the sky above it, the stars and the sun and moon. Every plant and drop of water on the earth. Every flower, seed, animal, bird and fish.” He paused. “And God created man and woman.”

“Yes,” Kessy said. “Noah told us this the day we visited the ark.”

“He told us more, too,” Fluffernutter said.

“He told us the people had wondered away from God, and it made him sad.” Danielle said.

“And that’s why he made the great flood,” Saturday said.

They could see that it pleased Moses that they knew some things. He smiled at them and then began telling more stories. Which Saturday thought were not only stories, but things of very, very, very much importance.

There came a time, after God had freed His people from the bondage of Egypt, that He spoke to me.” Moses said after he finished the stories of a book he called Genesis.
