Howdy Friends! Saturday Learns the Ten Commandments – Sneak Peek 12. In this scene, Moses leans on Kessy and explains why God gave us The Ten Commandments.

ENJOY THIS EXCERPT:

Then Saturday thought about it in a different sort of way. A sort of way that made him think of another question he thought might be good to ask, even if he wasn’t sure if right now was the best time to ask this sort of question. But he asked anyway, “Why did God give you the Ten Commandments?”

Moses stroked his long beard. “So that we would know what pleases God.” He stopped a second and looked very serious. “Also so we would know what does not please God.”

Now that made Saturday think. It made him think about the good that comes with pleasing, and the not so good that comes with not pleasing. It was while he was thinking about pleasing and not pleasing that Fluffernutter said something.

“The Ten Commandments can do both of those things?” Fluffernutter asked.

“They can and they do,” Moses told them.

“How do they do that?” Kessy asked.

Moses walked to Kessy, laid his arms across her back, and leaned on her. “It may be best to tell you the Ten Commandants.” He stopped and thought a little. Then he said, “Yes, I’ll tell you each of them, and then after you’ve heard them, we can talk more about each of them, one by one.”
