Howdy Friends! Isn’t it interesting that the disciples asked Jesus, “Lord, teach us to pray. (Luke 11:1)

They never asked Him to teach them to preach, or evangelize, or organize or mobilize. According to gospel records , the only thing these faithful followers asked for was, that Jesus teach them to pray.

For 3 years they observed Him. They saw the intensity and frequency of His own personal prayer life. They must have understood, if they could learn the essence of prayer, they would be well on the way to doing any ministries the Lord called them to do.

Perhaps it is good to let prayer take precedence, make it the priority, and not a sort of tagged-on afterthought to the business of the day.

Shouldn’t we ask the Lord to teach us to pray, and make prayer a priority in life. Everything begins with prayer.

Interesting thing that – I always say all equine posture begins with the foot, the foundation. And now thinking of that, everything begins with prayer, the foundation. ~ Gitty Up, Dutch.
