MISS LIZZY CONQUERS HEAVES
Howdy Friends! Miss Lizzy FIRST DAY WITH UNSTEAMED HAY. The past few days I’ve been mixing in a little unsteamed hay and she’s done well. BACKSTORY, you ask? Lizzy came to us August 20, 2024. Among other issues she had HEAVES.
REHAB HORSES WITH DR THOMAS’ HERBS
As many of you know, the backbone of my rehab health for horses, (people and dogs too) is Dr THOMAS’ “Contemporary Chinese Herbalism.” www.forloveofthehorse.com .Miss Lizzy has been on Doc’s herbs for Uvietus (stopped this already), Immune health (Rebuilding Blood), and Heaves formulation since she came here.
Miss Lizzy has been just a terrific girl, all going well. We’ll be ending the Total Immune Health herbs this month. It takes about 4 months to rebuild the blood, and white cells in the bone marrow. I’m getting a blood test done.
I’ve been riding Lizzy about a half hour every other day or so. What a ride!! Boy howdy does she have a gait! And a so gentle lope! No, I never ask for it, she just slips into it. Sweet ride though!! And she never gets winded, or coughs.
Back to Lizzy’s HEAVES.
She was pretty bad when we got her. Respiration in the thirties. Coughed every time she ate, and several times a day. She hasn’t coughed now in weeks. Respiration now low twenties. Still a little raspy breath at times, but minimal. She also “talks” with her ‘raspy’ breath. She loves snuggling. She’s become quite the pocket pony already.
What was Lizzy’s HEAVES TREATMENT?
Of course Dr Thomas’ Chinese Herbal remedy, “HEAVES FORMULA,” and steamed hay (I built my own hay steamer) and soaked timothy pellets. And today is the first day of no steamed hay. NOTE: Lizzy is the second horse with heaves that I totally fixed with the help of Dr Thomas’ Herbs. This is HEALING, not managing. Yes you can cure Heaves!
