Howdy Friends! There ya go. And I think I’ve read all of his books.
I think about this often when I hear folks express themselves. Or watch something in TV. Recently it became available to us to “stream” Paramount+ . (That’s another story)
Robbie and I have watched in its entirety the Yellowstone prequel 1883 – and have started on 1923. Pretty good shows, but the forced vulgarity really, really, really hurts the true value of the stories. Sad.
I hear the show Yellowstone is worse.
Sure do wish Louis L’Amore had written these scripts. ~ Gitty Up, Dutch.
Side note: When I did research for my historical fictions, Tom Named by Horse and From the Banks of Little bear Creek – I found vulgarity was rare indeed at that time. Only the least of people spoke it fluidly – the dregs, worthless and ignorant. And in the stacks of first hand journals, never once did I find a single vulgar word. I find it sad, and cheap, that makers of “modern” historical fictions feel the necessity to insert today’s cheapness and ignorance into their craft. A reflection on them I suppose.

Won’t read it – won’t watch it – won’t write it. LL’s books are very entertaining proving that the garbage is not required to make the story.
Boy Howdy, Dave, I sure agree with you! Thanks for commenting. Hope you’ll join our newsletter. After ya look around a bit. You might enjoy having a look at my “A Dog Named Saturday” books. I call them “Children’s books the way they used to be. I have two historical fictions you might enjoy too. Thanks again.
