Reflections of it all in the barn
Quiet was the morning. Soft warm air filled the forest, the yard, the barn. A single blue bird chattered, softly. As if he did not wish to disturb the peace. Rosie turned from her hay, to me. I stroked her mane. She sighed.
On my lap Fluffernutter purred. Lady lay sleeping beside us. I looked up to the brightening sky, dozens of thoughts crowded my mind. Softly I asked Rosie, “ Do you suppose people consistently neglecting Bible intake is simply a way of saying, ‘The Bible is not an authority under which I’m willing to submit?’”
Rosie did not answer me. She left me to ponder on my own.
I then asked her. “What then, is the authority under which they are willing to submit?” Again Rosie did not answer. But the look in her eye gave me a clue. It seems we both knew. ~ Gitty Up, Dutch.
