DON’T JUDGE ME
Howdy Friends! We live in a time when the words “Don’t judge me,” echoes louder than, “Help me grow.” The moment someone tries to correct us we call it condemnation. We label it hate. We walk away offended instead of humbled.
But friends, correction is not condemnation. Correction is love with backbone. Condemnation pushes you down. Correction lifts you up, even if it hurts at first.
The Bible tells us, the Lord disciplines those He loves, Proverbs 3:12. That means when God corrects you It’s not because He’s angry with you. It’s because He refuses to lose you.
Yet today too many Christians confuse rebuke with rejection. Modern Christians have grown allergic to accountability. Too many would rather surround themselves with people who clap at their weakness than friends who call them to Holiness. They say, we want to grow, but don’t want to be stretched. They say, we want to change, but don’t want to be corrected.
And so the Church becomes a place of comfort not conviction. They cry out for Grace. But forget that Grace also trains us to say no to unGodliness, Titus 2:11-12.
When a Brother or Sister corrects you, that’s not hate, that’s mercy. That’s someone saying, “I love you too much to watch you walk off a cliff.”
Imagine a friend who sees you driving toward danger, but stays silent because they don’t want to judge you. Is that love? Of course not. True love warns. True love confronts. True love corrects.
But in today’s culture, correction has become a crime. We prefer sermons that soothe our emotions. Instead of shaping our soles. Society craves validation, and shuns transformation.
The truth is, if you can’t stand correction – you will never grow with Christ.
Every great man or woman of faith was shaped by Divine correction. David was corrected by Nathan. Peter was corrected by Paul. The disciples were corrected by Jesus Himself, again and again. And each time correction didn’t destroy them. It built them, and made them stronger, wiser, holier.
Correction does not condemn, sin does. Correction rescues you from condemnation.
So the next time God exposes something in your life, don’t run, don’t harden your heart. Don’t say, “Don’t judge me.” Let God break what needs breaking. So He can build what needs building.
Correction is the surgeon’s knife, (Jesus is the great physician) it cuts to heal, it hurts to help.
Remember, God’s correction is proof that you are still His. It’s not a sign He is done with you. It’s a sign He is still working on you.
Correction isn’t condemnation, but compassion in action. God’s love does not always comfort, sometimes it corrects. Lord don’t let me run from correction, use it to make me more like you.
