Howdy Friends! The Gospel at war with Heresy. “Heresy,” the self willed opinion of man that goes against God’s word. It can attack the essential doctrine of faith. One God for example.
We must know the gospel to prevent heresy. Jude 3: Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. 4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Common Salvation: If we miss justification, we miss Christ. Romans 3:24-25: – 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
Repent and mean it. We must Mortify our sins, not “manage” them.
Essential Gospel has been handed down to us. Nothing shall be altered.
Paul warns of a curse. Galatians 1: 8-9 – 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
We must not bless what God cursed. We cannot forget what scripture says about “another” Gospel.
